Joanne Tunnicliffe

In the last ten years, she has concentrated on Carolinian plant species. These species are designated to flourish in Southern Ontario, need little watering and grow quickly when placed properly. Joanne recently won the prestigious Monarch award demonstrating her knowledge of the associations between plants and animals for survival. Joanne is passionate about our Carolinian Life Zone and has shared her knowledge, through classes, with her community.

Grimsby Garden Club President, Stephen Hargrave's message

The Grimsby Garden Club had an outstanding 2019 and we want to thank our members for their invaluable support and the good citizens of Grimsby for their interest and participation in our yearly events and programs.  Last year a 20ft. Norwegian Spruce was planted outside Town Hall, the tree called Hope.  This year Hope was adorned with new lights and given company with a new seasonal display in front.  Hope, and the Town of Grimsby, are thriving thanks to dedication and foresight. As the President of the Grimsby Garden Club for 2020, I encourage everyone to embrace our Club mission to maintain and beautify our home of Grimsby.
The Speakers Series of 2019 presented entertaining, informative speakers on a host of captivating topics and will be repeated with an outstanding lineup of speakers for 2020.  Something not to be missed and an ideal evening for friends and family.
The Club successfully hosted the Garden Clubs of Niagara District 9 Annual General Meeting as we put our best foot forward for all to see.
The Grimsby Garden Tour of 2019 highlighted some of the finest gardens in Grimsby and provided everyone who attended the opportunity to see and appreciate the beauty and elegance of nature.
The annual Plant Sale was a great success and will be held next year on May 16, 2020, 9am until sold out at the Livingston Activity Centre.  We will again offer an abundance of plant varieties, at great prices, to enhance and beautify your gardens.
Our Trillium Program recognizes the outstanding gardens of Grimsby.  With the support of the Town of Grimsby, 2019 saw dedicated gardeners awarded a special thanks for their tireless efforts to beautify their homes and Grimsby.  We invite you to participate in the 2020 Trillium Program and help us in the beautification of our town.
Please look through our pages to see what events are coming up and discover the joys and beauty of gardening.  We invite you all to come to our meetings and enjoy engaging presentations, and baked goods, for you, your family and friends.

Looking forward to seeing you!
