Monday October 26th, 2015 at 7:00pm social start

Speaker: Russell Boles is active in all things gardening and horticulture.  He is President of the Niagara Falls Horticultural Society and Owner/Operator of RKB Horticultural Consultants.  And before that he was the manager of horticulture of the Niagara Parks Commission.

Topic:  There is a great appreciation for Japanese Gardens in North America.  We will have an opportunity to learn more with Russell as he takes us on a  springtime stroll through the gardens of Japan.

Russell has visited Japan for its gardens many times over the years.  He will show us what a springtime stroll is all about in Japan, with delights such as blossoming cherries, wisteria, and quiet and harmonious garden landscape settings.

Membership Renewal
It may be that there are members who haven't renewed  for 2015.  We can catch you up at the October meeting.  It's no problem as our annual fee is modest at $10 single and $15 family.

If you're an early bird and would like to renew for 2016 at our October meeting, we'll be ready for you.

October Garden of the Month - 62 Lake Street

Grimsby Garden Club
Garden of the Month for October

Congratulations to Jo and Ken Agnew

Our fall Garden of the Month is alive with cheerful yellow marigolds and orange-red geraniums interspersed with yews, hostas, euonymus and grasses varying in tones from blue-grey to bright yellow.  The repetition of planting pleases the eye by being offset with a variety of evergreens, cedars, boxwood and blue spruce.  It is a formal yet causal planting as it winds up the driveway toward the front of the house.

Please make sure to drive by this lovely garden at 62 Lake Street near Nelles Park. This is the Grimsby Garden Club’s last garden for the year. We would like to thank everyone for helping to make Grimsby the beautiful town that it is.

The Garden of the Month chosen by members of the Grimsby Garden Club runs from May to October each year. Winning gardens are chosen based on our criteria for curb appeal, colour, design and maintenance.
