1 case Concha y Toro Frontera After Midnight Dark Red Blend, Chile (LCBO #116426). Deep ruby colour; upfront black plum, smoke, nuts and mushrooms aromas; extra dry, balanced acidity and medium bodied, with good dark plum flavour, through to a pleasant fruity finish. The Frontera wines come from Chile. They are smooth, juicy, not too light and not too heavy. Delicious to drink and you can also eat just about anything with it. That sounds like a type of wine that is always useful to have at home. This may make it the best-selling Chilean wine in the world. Frontera comes from the house Concha y Toro.

The Grimsby Garden Club is excited to share with you the Sept 2023 fundraiser.
Enter for a chance to win a case of 12 bottles of wine Barone Montalto Pinot Grigio. Pinot Grigio is produced by the Sicilian winery Barone Montaldo, founded in 2000, which is based in Santa Ninfa, in the province of Trapani. The estate manages about 400 hectares of vineyards, partly owned and partly by contributors, located in the Bèlice valley, in the Valley of the Temples and in Noto, in the south-eastern part of Sicily.
The fermentation of the Pinot Gris grapes begins with soft pressing, followed by fermentation at 13-15 °C for about 15 days. The wine is finally aged in steel for about 2 months.
Straw yellow in colour with golden reflections, the nose reveals aromas of acacia flowers, exotic fruit and citrus. On the palate it is fresh and clean, with a good balanced structure.

San Marzano di San Giuseppe is a small town in the centre of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP area, a strip of land between the seas that wash over the Puglia region, in Italy. It was here that in 1962 19 vine growers founded Cantine San Marzano. Powerful yet elegant, beautifully balanced Primitivo. Opaque with a sparkling garnet hue in the glass. Heady aromas of raspberry, cherry, cardamom and a hint of orange blossom carry through to a persistent cherry flavour finish. Medium+ body, with balanced acidity and tannins, and a slight sweetness on the finish.

Enter for a chance to win a Butternut tree, donated by Jeff Jordan, our mayor and owner of Jordans Flower Shop.
Once a highly valued North American tree valued for its delicious nuts, excellent wood, and shade-tree properties, the butternut is increasingly rare in the wild
Butternut looks a lot like its close relative, black walnut, with compound leaves featuring 11 to 17 oval leaflets with serrated edges. The bark is more gray and less fissured than the black walnut, and the nuts are more oval and less rounded than the fruit of the black walnut.
Butternut tree forms a broadly rounded crown that serves well to provide shade in the landscape; the crown can hang quite low if the tree is not kept pruned. Yellowish-green flowers appear in late spring, giving way to the fruits that ripen into nuts in fall. The fall color is yellow.

The Grimsby Garden Club is excited to share with you our first monthly fundraiser of 2022. A case of 12 bottles of Malivoire wines.

The case contains:

3 Pinot Gris - Scented of pineapple, pear and lime, it is zesty on the palate with tangy flavours of green apple and pink grapefruit. Picked by hand from the mature vines of the Malivoire Estate Vineyard on September 23^rd. After crushing and destemming, the crushed berries soaked for 6 hours before pressing.

3 Vivant Rose - The nose finds a fruity, candied, floral and flinty bouquet; maraschino cherry and cranberry come to mind. With a zesty, clean mouthfeel, Vivant delivers flavours of cherry, raspberry, Bartlett pear, pomegranate and Key lime. Estate-grown pinot noir was hand-picked at cool daybreak temperature on September 30^th. BTW a sold out vintage!

3 Che Bello - Voluptuously aromatic sparkling wine of white peach, lemon sorbet, pineapple and kiwi with floral accents. A sprightly sparkling texture makes Che Bello playfully fruity and dry, with flavours of green apple, lime and pear and a zesty, citrusy finish.

3 Small Lot Gamay - For the nose, scents of fresh cherries, and strawberries and a suggestion of white pepper. A taste finds the wine fleshy and medium weight, with flavours of ripe Niagara cherries and raspberries. Grape clusters grown on the Malivoire Estate and Genova Vineyards. The newly harvested grapes were sorted by hand. The larger portion (65 %) was gently de-stemmed, while 35% was layered in by whole clusters.
